About Us

Ciao!

We’re Julie and Andrew, an Australian couple with a not-so-secret love affair with Tuscany. We created Two Aussies in Tuscany as a way to share our passion for this incredible region with you.

Back in 2013, we visited this magical corner of Italy for the first time and it didn’t take long for Tuscany to win us over. Over the years, we returned more times than we can count, each trip deepening our connection to the region.

Fast forward a decade, and we’ve made Chianti our second home, spending half the year soaking up everything this breathtaking place has to offer.

When we’re in Tuscany, we fully embrace the lifestyle—slow mornings with a strong coffee, leisurely afternoons in the vineyards, and evenings filled with local wine and laughter. It’s a rhythm of life that feels worlds away from our busy days back in Australia. And that’s the beauty of it.

If you’ve ever dreamt of strolling or cycling amongst sun-drenched vineyards, wandering the cobblestone streets of a ancient borgo, or enjoying a plate of pasta that gets better with each bite, you’ve come to the right place. Tuscany isn’t just a destination—it’s an experience. And we’re here to show you how to make it your own.

Our love for Tuscany began with our very first visit. We were swept away by the rolling hills, charming villages, and food so delicious it almost felt unreal. It was like stepping into a painting, only better—because there was wine. From that moment, we were hooked.

At first, we were just visitors passing through, ticking off the must-see sights. But with each return trip, we stayed a little longer and got a little closer to the heart of the place. Eventually, we realised that visiting wasn’t enough—we wanted to live it. So, we made the leap and set up our little home-away-from-home in Chianti, a stunning stretch of Tuscany between Florence and Siena.

These days, we’re more than tourists. We’re learning the ropes as “locals-in-training,” muddling our way through the language, experimenting with traditional recipes, and finding happiness in the little things—like discovering the perfect spot for an aperitivo. It’s a journey, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Why Chianti?

Chianti is one of those places that sticks with you. Maybe it’s the vineyards stretching as far as you can see, the welcoming locals, or the slower pace of life. For us, it’s all that—and more.

Every time we visit, we find something new: a hidden back road, another hill-top village, a cosy winery, or a spot that serves the kind of food you’ll still talk about later. These are the moments that make Tuscany special, and we love sharing them with others.

When we’re not enjoying a long, lazy lunch (because in Tuscany, lunch is never rushed), we’re out exploring. Whether it’s biking down dusty white roads or stopping for a quick gelato or a spritz in a tiny village, every day feels like an adventure.

Chianti has a way of slowing you down and helping you see the magic in the little things. And once you experience it, you’ll see what we mean.
